Golf Las Vegas

Golf Anyone? Hole 9 Whether you're a weekender playing 18 so you can chill on 19, or actual PGA pro (that likes to chill on 19), Las Vegas does not lack on choices of where to hit the greens. I am far from anything 'pro', can't really claim the weekender spot quite yet, but I definitely like to chill at the 19th hole, it's where I do my best work! That being said, I do enjoy swinging the club and yelling at the ball to get in the hole, so here are a few highlights and tons of lowlights of some of my rounds around the valley.                                                                                                           Chimera Golf Club This course is just shy of 7,000 yards, set in a desert landscape with magnificent views of the Las Vegas strip. You'll definitely be challenged to make smart shots (hole 9 pictured above), but after putting off on 18 you'll be ready to book your next tee time for another round.  Chimera Golf Club is actually loca

Big Sky, Montana

Big Sky, Montana

Is your heart calling for wide open spaces, exploration, adventure...beauty? From hiking to kayaking,  skiing to fly fishing, star gazing to national park trekking, Montana is filled with options and opportunities. Big Sky in particular aims to fill you heart, mind and soul with joy.

The picturesque hike up  Beehive Basin Trail gets the heart pumping and an occasional peek at wandering wildlife. Be sure to read the signage and be prepared, bears have been seen enjoying this area too! If you're there during the summer months, take your time to stop and smell the wildflowers as you make your way to the small lake at the top. This 7 mile trail takes around 4 hours and is at an elevation over 1,600 ft, so be sure to have the necessities with you.

If you are looking for something a little easier to hike, you definitely need to visit Ousel Falls Park this trail is less than 2 miles, takes about 45 minutes and leads you to a gorgeous waterfall! There are tons of photo opps along the trail, just remember to actually take in the sights and sounds as you make one with nature after you snap those pics. I could spend all day here honestly, it just hits the spot when I need to connect with nature.

We rented this beautiful cabin that had all the luxuries and amenities needed to enjoy Big Sky year round. Scenic views, easy access, and that true cabin feel was just the right the vibe. Big Sky Resort is just down the hill. The small community is filled with local artisan boutiques, restaurants, and activities including outdoor concerts and farmers markets, so be sure to explore and plan your day so you can enjoy it all.

The location of Big Sky is definitely convenient. There is so much to do and it's only an hour away from the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park! Along the way you'll see Gallatin River as you pass through the alpine meadows of Gallatin Canyon. The glorious Lone Peak Mountain with its massive elevation of 11,166 feet invites you to ski, snow shoe, dog sled and much more as it overlooks Spanish Peak and Madison Range. It does not disappoint.

Plan your Big Sky experience to fill that need for nature, relaxation, exploration, family time, or the ever elusive desire for solitude. There is something for everyone. Take your camera, your journal, your hunger for new memories and let Montana take your breath away.
